An Ivor Novello nominated composer and multi-instrumentalist, Chris Roe combines an acoustic/orchestral palette with a contemporary edge, bringing a fresh approach to each project.
Chris’ film work has included The Salt Path starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, Blue Jean (winning the audience award at the Venice Film Festival) as well as previously scoring BAFTA-winning film After Love winning Best Original Score at Les Arcs Film Festival. He has just finished scoring dark comedy/thriller Bad Apples for Pulse Films, starring Saoirse Ronan.
In TV, Chris recently scored the Robbie Williams Netflix documentary (nominated for an MAS Award for Best Original Score) as well as BBC1 series Wolf for Hartswood Films and Jed Mercurio’s award-winning series Trigger Point. He is currently scoring Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue for MGM+/BBC.
Classically trained as a pianist and string player and a graduate of the Royal College of Music, Chris draws on his background in experimental music, mixing a string/piano-based palette with a web of electronic and instrumental textures, always starting from scratch to build a distinctive concept and soundworld for each project.
